Ken Epps
Chief Executive Officer - U4EA Technologies, Inc.
As chief executive officer (CEO), Ken Epps is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company. Epps has deep communications industry experience, specifically around broadband network equipment and solutions as well as broadband and multimedia applications, software, and services. Prior to U4EA, Epps was CEO of BayPackets, where he transformed a beta product company with 18 developers into a competitive global communications software provider with marquee customers and international distribution. Epps has also held key executive roles at Williams Communications, Lucent, and AT&T, and was instrumental in AT&T's revenue growth with the launch of some of the company's most successful services that included bundling wireless, internet, and other offers with pricing and retention programs. Ken holds an MBA from Stanford, a M.S. from the University of Tennessee, and a B.S. from S.C. State University.
Curt Mason
Chief Financial Officer - U4EA Technologies, Inc. and U4EA Wireless
Curt Mason is a seasoned financial executive with more than twenty years of experience in the successful building and financial management of public and private companies. Mason has held CFO positions at Intransa Inc., Procket Networks (sold to Cisco Systems) and Kagoor Networks. Prior to Kagoor, Mason served as a VP of corporate finance of Chippac, which he successfully led through a corporate spin-off, recapitalization, reorganization, merger, and finally a successful IPO. As a licensed CA CPA, Mason also practiced as an audit and accounting professional for fourteen years, servicing both international and local firms, including many technology start-ups. Mr. Mason holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, U.C.
Jim Greenway
Vice President - Global Marketing and Products
Jim Greenway is in charge of worldwide marketing and product expansion for U4EA and its converged communication solutions. A seasoned communications veteran with expertise in VoIP, data, and security, Greenway has helped both startups and large, global organizations to effectively communicate and broaden their presence in the marketplace. Prior to joining U4EA, Greenway was vice president of marketing at Array Networks, a provider of high-performing SSL VPN and application acceleration solutions. He also served as vice president of marketing for Kagoor Networks, a VoIP pioneer, acquired in May 2005 by Juniper Networks. He previously held VP of Marketing positions at Williams Communications, Sprint, and startup InfoGear (acquired by Cisco) as well as marketing management positions at Juniper, Nortel, and Motorola. Greenway holds a BA with Honors in Psychology from the University of Michigan.
Jay Bowker
Vice President - Global Sales
Jay Bowker drives worldwide sales and go-to-market strategy for U4EA's Fusion Series of multi-service business gateways. A 20-year sales veteran with deep experience in the global telecom sector, Bowker most recently served as vice president of global sales and marketing at Coastal Technologies. He has also held key sales leadership roles with companies including: Overture Networks, Centerpoint Broadband, Alidian Networks, 3Com Corporation (via acquisition of OnStream Networks), and VINA Technologies. While at VINA, Bowker was instrumental in fueling the company's sales growth and helped position the company for a successful IPO. He holds a degree in Communications Systems Engineering from the U.S. Air Force.
PG Menon
Vice President and General Manager - U4EA Wireless
PG Menon was Vice President of Marketing at Next Hop prior to its acquisition by U4EA, where he was responsible for all product management & marketing activities. Prior to Next Hop, Mr. Menon was VP & GM at Arris International, a leading supplier of voice and data equipment for cable operators, in their Atoga Metro Solutions Division. He was Vice President of Marketing and co-founder at Atoga Systems and joined Arris upon its acquisition of Atoga. Before Atoga, Mr. Menon was Senior Director of Product Management at Cabletron Systems, a leading vendor of networking equipment for Fortune 500 enterprise customers. He went to Cabletron through the acquisition of YAGO Systems, a Gigabit Ethernet switch startup, where he was Director of Marketing. Mr. Menon has an MS EE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an undergraduate degree in EE from BHU-IT, India.
John Power
Managing Director - U4EA Ireland
John was the founder and Managing Director of J6 Technology prior to its acquisition by U4EA. John was Engineering Manager of Ericsson Access Systems in Ireland for several years and was responsible for setting up high-tech Engineering teams in Ireland for foreign multinationals before that. John has 20 years experience in senior roles in the Telecommunications Industry and has a B.Sc. and B.E. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University College Cork.
Peter Thompson, B.Sc.
Chief Scientist
Peter Thompson is Chief Scientist and one of the founders of U4EA Technologies Ltd, a company established to commercialize advanced research into network QoS, undertaken during the four years that he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Partnership in Advanced Computing Technology in Bristol, England. Previously he spent eleven years at STMicroelectronics, where one of his numerous patents received a corporate World-wide Technical Achievement Award. For five years he was the Subject Editor for VLSI and Architectures of the journal Microprocessors and Microsystems, published by Elsevier, and he has been a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bristol, England since 1996. He was educated at the University of Warwick, England, where he obtained a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and Physics, and at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, England, where his postgraduate studies included quantum field theory and general relativity.
Vivek Janakiraman
Vice President - Technology
Janakiraman is responsible for guiding the technology and product direction for the company. Previously he worked with Ericsson's Webcom division on their WebSwitch IP-PBX, before becoming a key member developing Ericsson's next generation Multi-Service Edge Device (MSED). Leaving Ericsson in early 2004, he co-founded U4EA Technologies, Inc., and set about creating an updated design based on the latest networking silicon. He holds a BS degree in Electronics Engineering from Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), Nagpur, India and a MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo.
