U4EA Technologies Earns tekVizion Labs' VoIP Interoperability Certification with Sylantro's Hosted Communications Platform
U4EA's Session Controller certified to Sylantro's Applications Feature Server
RICHARDSON, TX (August 22, 2005) - tekVizion PVS, Inc., the new standard for systems integration, today announced that tekVizion Labs has issued interoperable certification to U4EA Technologies Ltd., the leading provider of integrated access technology, for deployment with Sylantro Systems' telco-grade applications feature server.
tekVizion Labs has certified the U4EA Technologies ICAD40 Session Controller as interoperable with Sylantro Systems Corporation's applications feature server, which is the foundation for many Tier-1 service providers' hosted Voice over IP (VoIP) service offerings worldwide. The U4EA ICAD40 Session Controller simplifies network management by providing multi-service QoS, LAN switch, advanced service monitoring and secure management capabilities in one integrated device.
Sylantro was one of the inaugural "Premier Tenants" of tekVizion Labs and has provided Sylantro products that allow certification testing and/or remote interoperability testing for third-party technologies such as U4EA's. Sylantro has also named tekVizion as an authorized systems integrator for the company's hosted communications solutions, which are deployed by ILECs, PTTs, CLECs and others worldwide.
"Third-party interoperability certification is a real competitive edge for our company," said Columb Harrington, U4EA Technologies' CEO. "We are pleased to be able to reassure our OEM and service provider customers that our session controller has passed the rigorous tests executed by tekVizion Labs and that it interoperates reliably with Sylantro's applications feature server."
"tekVizion is a valued Sylantro business partner for interoperability testing services and systems integration," said Bernard Gutnick, vice president of product marketing for Sylantro Systems. "tekVizion is able to leverage our industry-standard open interfaces and professional services, resulting in reduced time-to-market for third-party solutions such as U4EA's."
"Interoperability testing and certification are critical for the entire VoIP industry," added Terri Griffin, tekVizion's COO. "Given the complexities of multi-vendor networks, service providers can confidently deploy VoIP technologies with an assurance that these core technologies will work together seamlessly and reliably."
tekVizion Labs is the first lab of its kind to offer third-party certification and testing for voice over IP (VoIP) products and services. In order to be certified, a vendor's product must pass rigorous evaluations. Depending on the type of VoIP product and its function in a converged network, testing may include verifications such as SIP torture testing, verifying redundancy operations and security features, as well as call feature interoperability.
tekVizion Labs offers several types of testing services involving both remote and on-site testing at tekVizion Labs. Remote testing can be used for pre-certification or ad-hoc test scenarios, whereas formal certification is conducted on-site at tekVizion Labs by tekVizion engineers. Certification can be provided between two products or in a multi-product solution. All lab services are available to both vendors and service providers.
Potential customers of tekVizion Labs can request testing via the tekVizion Labs website ( www.tekVizionlabs.com ) or by contacting the program director, Jerry Mistrot. The tekVizion Labs website allows anyone to register to be notified when new Premier Tenants join the lab, when products are certified, and when new services are offered by the Labs.
