U4EA Technologies Adds Seasoned Hardware Engineering Executive to Management Team

FREMONT, CA - July 16, 2007 - U4EA Technologies Inc., the leading provider of integrated access technology for converged communications, today announced that David Hargis has joined the company's management team as vice president of hardware engineering.

Hargis brings to U4EA more than 25 years of experience developing hardware solutions for the consumer, enterprise, networking, and test & measurement environments. At U4EA, he will lead the definition, design and implementation of the company's Multi-Service Business Gateway devices, single-box solutions for the customer premises which provide a complete set of networking features for converged voice, data and video services over IP.

"VoIP Business Gateways have become a critical component in the cost-effective provisioning of IP services to carriers' small-to-medium enterprise (SME) customers," said Hargis. "I was particularly impressed by the quality of U4EA's solution - in particular, its ability to maintain wire speed performance while protecting security, segmenting traffic, and managing priorities for today's converged services. I look forward to further improving and expanding the capabilities of this industry-leading product line."

Hargis most recently served as the director of Engineering Program management at Leapfrog Enterprises, where he oversaw and drove the definition, design, and implementation for all programs under development at the company. Prior to Leapfrog, Hargis created and delivered high-technology and consumer-based products for companies such as Trapeze Networks, Philips Electronics, and Tektronix, Inc. Hargis has a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portland in Oregon.

"We are thrilled that David is joining our team as we expand our product line beyond hosted VoIP to include IP PBX and PBX capabilities," said Ken Epps, CEO of U4EA, Inc. "David has deep experience designing and implementing top-of-the-line products and processes, and scaling engineering and operations organizations to meet growing customer demand. He is the right person at the right time for U4EA's expanding business."
